Survey suggests hospital hygiene is good

A poll of patients, staff and visitors concerning hygiene levels at a hospital in England has suggested the medical centre is clean.
Thurock Council's Health and Well-being Overview and Scrutiny Committee instructed the Thurrock Local Improvement Network (TLIN) to set up the survey about Basildon and Thurrock Hospital.
The results revealed 96 per cent of workers at the institution believed it was either "very" or "fairly" clean.
Meanwhile, 71 per cent of patients and 80 per cent of visitors had the same impression.
Responding to the development, Steve Westrop from the TLIN said: "This was never a hospital-bashing exercise. There were concerns in the community and we wanted to investigate what was actually happening."
He added that there is plenty of "excellent work" at the centre - which is run by Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The organisation serves a population of around 310,000 and had a budget of £168 million last year.
