Pharmacists begin working in new centre

A number of people with pharmacy jobs have begun work at new facility in the Midlands.
The Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre features a Lloydspharmacy, the Halesowen News reports.
As well as the usual drug dispensary services provided by such outlets, the unit will help local people with other offerings, including free diabetes and blood pressure tests.
In addition, it will conduct medicine use reviews, a stop smoking service and cholesterol and heart checks.
Commenting on the development, Dudley Mayor Peter Miller, who opened the centre with his wife, said it is "commendable".
He added: "This clearly demonstrates the pivotal role pharmacists play in the provision of primary care. I hope local residents will take advantage of the expert advice and free health checks available."
Recently, Rowlands Pharmacy in the Red Hall Shopping Precinct in Connah's Quay, north Wales began serving local people again following a period of closure, the Flintshire Chronicle reported.
