Early help from audiologists could help hearing impaired people?

Individuals who suffer from hearing problems may benefit from early intervention from audiologists.
According to a report produced by the charity RNID, it is important that such people receive assistance as soon as possible because this minimises the risks of difficulties with family relationships.
Called In It Together, the study noted that 60 per cent of Britons find it "embarrassing" to start conversations with people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
It also noted that relationships can be strained as a result of the medical condition.
Jackie Ballard, chief executive of RNID - which has a history stretching back nearly 100 years - said: "We know that people with hearing loss often feel isolated from social activities because it can be difficult to keep up with group conversations or talk in loud or crowded places."
She added that the new research shows this often has a knock-on effect on family life.
