Dietician to help in diabetes initiative

A dietician is set to provide assistance in a scheme designed to aid patients who suffer from diabetes.
The medical professional has been appointed to help such people control their insulin levels, the Lincolnshire Echo reports.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which operates on an annual budget of more than £370 million and has a total of around 7,800 staff members and volunteers - has set up a group that meets every other week.
During the sessions, members can discuss issues connected to the medical problem and a total of 27 people from across the county have signed up to it so far.
Commenting on the programme, its leader Carol Cottingham said: "The group has proved invaluable in helping us to identify the changes required to our diabetes services."
Recently, Jenny Hirst, co-chair of the Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust, suggested that people in the UK need to be better educated about the disease.
