MP opens new pharmacy in London

An upgraded and refitted pharmacy was officially opened on Friday June 4th by newly-elected Conservative MP for Orpington Jo Johnson.
According to Chemist and Druggist, the area's Superdrug now has two consultation rooms on site and a result of a government initiative, it now offers Chlamydia screening for under-24s and an NHS health check pilot for those over 40 years old.
Consumers visiting the pharmacy can also have their blood pressure checked, get travel vaccinations, ECG monitoring or even start a weight management programme, with a nurse heading to the pharmacy twice a week in order to carry out these services.
The visit was part of the Building Bridges campaign run by Chemist and Druggist to raise the profile of pharmacies to the government.
Last month, Mr Johnson, brother of London mayor Boris Johnson, secured his Orpington seat - beating Liberal Democrat rival David McBride with a clear 59.7 per cent of the vote.
