Refer an Speech and Language Therapist
Thursday 27th May 2010
People with speech therapy jobs have been helping a singer to recover after a car accident she was involved in.
In November last year, Lynsey Dart was travelling on the A380 Newton Road when she had a collision, the South Devon Herald Express reports.
The 25-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and was left only being able to communicate with her eyes.
However, medical professionals have been assisting her and she is slowly regaining some of her former abilities.
She remarked: "I ... have speech therapy because, as a result of my brain damage, my speech has gone and I'm having to learn that again."
Ms Dart is staying at the Mardon Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for her treatment.
Opened in March 1994, the clinic is a purpose-built complex that provides a range of facilities and services for individuals with neurological conditions who are over the age of 16.
