Phlebotomists among those celebrating health centre anniversary

A number of people with phlebotomy jobs were among those recently celebrating a landmark for a health centre.
Beckenham Beacon, which is located on Croydon Road, turned one year old recently, This is Local London reports.
The development offers a range of services in addition to blood testing, including ultrasound and X-ray imaging.
Costing £23 million to construct, it provides local people with a seven-day walk-in general practice and urgent care provisions.
It also offers treatments for those who suffer from diabetes and breathing difficulties.
Commenting on the facility, the Department of Health's national clinical director of primary care Professor David Colin-Thome - who attended the festivities - said it is a credit to those behind it.
He remarked: "This is as good as I've seen anywhere in the country."
The medical centre is run by the South London Healthcare NHS Trust, which employs a total of around 6,000 staff members and operates on a budget of £400 million.
