Refer an Audiologist
Friday 14th May 2010
An NHS trust has spoken out to reassure patients and people with audiology jobs that a hearing service department is not going to be relocated.
According to a report in the Ilford Recorder 24, there were fears that the audiology wing at King George Hospital in Goodmayes was to move to Loxford Polyclinic without consultation.
The clinic enables patients to get help with faulty hearing aids and to access advice.
Concerns had been raised after the Ilford Recorder received a letter from a woman claiming she had been informed that the unit was set to be relocated.
In a bid to quell the speculation, NHS Redbridge said there are no proposals at present for such a development to occur.
A spokesman for the organisation - which operates on an annual budget of around £300 million - said: "There are no current plans to move audiology services from King George Hospital but should this change in the future a public consultation would be required."
