Dance firm raises money for speech therapy

A dance company has been involved in an initiative to raise money for a charity.
With the cash raised, Swindon Down's Syndrome Group will be able to pay for people with speech therapy jobs to help sufferers, the Swindon Advertiser reports.
Earlier this month, Ektos, which organises electronic dance music events, staged an event at Liquid and Envy night club in Havelock Square.
The amount generated totalled over £1,000 and more than 400 people attended.
Commenting on the efforts of the organisation, Nicky Parker, chairman of the Swindon Downs Syndrome Group, said she was "thrilled".
She added: "Communication is one of the main areas of difficulty for many children with Down's syndrome and so the [charity] provides weekly speech groups to try and overcome this barrier."
The medical condition is a genetic disorder and it affects one in approximately every 1,000 babies in the UK, meaning around 600 youngsters are born with it each year.
