ODPs to benefit from fundraising initiative

A number of people with jobs as operation department practitioners (ODPs) may benefit from the efforts of local fundraisers.
Employees from hair salons in Bushey and Radlett worked for free recently in order to generate cash for the Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Watford Observer reports.
The medical centre - which has roots tracing back to 1852 and is now a national centre of excellence in the provision of children's healthcare - will put the money towards a new operating theatre.
Those involved were contributing to a campaign to raise £1 million and they succeeded in generating almost £6,000.
Robert Resnick, one of those involved, said: "It was amazing, absolutely amazing. The clients loved it, they were lapping it up - it was just a fantastic atmosphere."
Meanwhile, fellow fundraiser Adam Cole revealed his salon is likely to repeat the activity next year because it was such a success.
