Speech therapists help woman with FAS

A woman who suffers from foreign accent syndrome (FAS) is being treated by speech therapists.
Sarah Colwill contacted specialists to help her after suffering brain damage as a result of a severe headache.
She was taken to hospital as a result of the pains after she called 999.
The 35-year-old, who lives in Devon and spoke with a West Country drawl previously, has been left communicating with a far eastern accent.
Ms Colwill remarked: "I have never been to China. It is very frustrating and I just want my own voice back but I don't know if I ever will."
She added that her stepdaughter did not recognise who she was when she rang up from hospital.
The condition is quite rare and is not something speech therapists often have to deal with.
Meanwhile, a team of such medical professionals are set to begin working in a new medical centre on the current Falkirk District Royal Infirmary site, the Linlithgow Journal & Gazette reported.
