Investments made in cardiac equipment

New investments have been made in equipment which will be used by people with cardiac physiology jobs.
Basingstoke Hospital has put an additional £330,000 into its cardiac catheterisation laboratory, the Basingstoke Gazette reports.
Commenting on the development, Dr Carl Brookes said: "This upgraded equipment will speed up the process for most patients and completely reset the life-span of the system for another seven years."
He added that the speed at which people's arteries are unblocked in the event of a heart attack is crucial concerning their chances of survival and the hospital aims to achieve very fast times.
Dr Brookes went on to note that patients at Basingstoke Hospital - which was built in the 1970s and has around 450 beds - may only have to remain in the medical centre for two or three days after experiencing a heart attack.
Also, they are all offered a cardiac rehabilitation programme, he pointed out.
