New robot begins work in Welsh pharmacy

A number of people with pharmacy jobs in Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth have got a new colleague in the form of a robot.
Called Caradog, the device has been developed to revolutionise the way in which drugs are dispensed.
According to the Hywel Dda NHS Trust - which provides healthcare services to a population of more than 370,000 - it will reduce the risk of errors and will improve efficiency.
The machine cost £198,000 and others like it are said to have proved a success at a number of hospitals in Wales.
Commenting on the development, chief pharmacist Geraint Morgan said: "Technology such as this brings real benefits to the health care profession, as it allows us to spend more time dealing directly with patients."
Meanwhile, the hospital's dispensary manager Donna Robson added that there are many advantages of using a robot as it speeds up the process of supplying medication, among other things.
