Biomedical scientists working in the Midlands have been given a funding boost.
The University of Warwick Science Park has established a Biomedical Futures facility costing £143,000.
Money for the venture was provided by Advantage West Midlands - which is a development agency that aims to promote the region as a place to invest, work, study and visit.
The new centre is intended to help firms in the biomedical sector that require lab space during their early stages of development.
Commenting on the project, deputy director of the University of Warwick Science Park David Grindrod said: "The idea behind Biomedical Futures is to provide the appropriate space and infrastructure for these companies at a cost that does not constrain their development."
He went on to suggest it is crucial that firms in the sector are supported because it will be key to the country's economic recovery and its future success.
