New plans may affect mortuary technicians in Gloucestershire

Plans for the development of a new facility in Gloucestershire may impact on people with jobs as mortuary technicians.
Proposals which would involve the construction of a new mortuary and coroner's court are going on display to the public.
Those behind the project estimate it will cost £4.5 million to create and it would serve the whole county.
In addition to a mortuary and post mortem area, a court would be installed to allow for inquests to take place there.
Commenting on the idea, Sally Bye, head of registration and coroner's service manager at Gloucestershire County Council - which is headquartered in Shire Hall, Gloucester - said current facilities are inadequate for bereaved families.
She added: "One of the aims of the new building would be to make this difficult experience as comfortable and dignified as possible."
Initial approval has been given for the development, but a decision regarding planning permission is to follow later this month.
