Speech therapists receive praise

A mother has praised the work of a number of people who have speech therapy jobs at Woodlands Language Unit.
According to Derry Today, the woman - who wished to remain anonymous - said her son's life has been transformed as a result of their help.
Her youngster was experiencing speech problems and was referred to a specialist, who in turn passed on his case to experts at the centre.
Commenting on the discovery that her child had delayed speech, she said: "It was difficult for us at the start because we weren't sure what was going to happen - there was a stigma attached to it."
She went on to say that her family has never experienced anything like this before but they have been "blown away" by the care they have benefited from.
Recently, sixth-former Adam Black revealed that he was aided by speech experts on the McGuire programme, which is intended to help stammerers.
