Dietician extols benefits of omega-3

A dietician has suggested that omega-3 has significant health benefits.
Evelyn Tribole, author of The Ultimate Omega-3 Diet: Maximise the Power of Omega-3s to Supercharge Your Health, Battle Inflammation, and Keep Your Mind Sharp, said they are "essential nutrients", the BBC reports.
According to the expert, modern forms of food production may be reducing the amount of the substance in consumers' diets.
The problem of omega-3 fat deficiency is a global one, Ms Tribole claimed.
She commented: "Food and nutrition seem to run in fashionable trends, with followers and believers. In this case, however, there is a lot of good evidence for the benefits of omega-3s."
According to the NHS, there is increasing evidence that it can help reduce the risk of people suffering from depression, with an inverse relationship discovered between consumption of the substance and incidence of the health problem.
Omega-3 can be found in a range of foods, including fish.
