New community pharmacy opens in Liverpool

A new community pharmacy has opened in Liverpool which is responsible for the clinical checking and dispensing of prescriptions.
The Lloydspharmacy is located at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital - which itself was established in 1978 and currently has more than 50 wards - and was officially launched by chief pharmaceutical officer for England Keith Ridge.
People with pharmacy jobs at the facility are part of a drive to reduce waiting times for patients and incur cost savings for the medical centre.
Andy Murdock, pharmacy relations and governance director at Lloydspharmacy, claimed that the firm has a good working relationship with the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and is "delighted" with the success of the project.
He added that the new service is "pioneering" and something that all those involved should be proud of.
Mr Murdock went on to state: "We believe that community pharmacy ... is well placed to work alongside hospital trusts to deliver service efficiencies and service improvements."
