Podiatrist secures charity prize

A podiatrist has won a charity prize from the Arthritis Research Campaign, it has been revealed.
According to the Rye and Battle Observer, Dr Simon Otter picked up the arc prize in rheumatology from the organisation - which was established in 1936 and raises money to promote medical research into the condition, as well as to educate doctors and students and provide information to the public.
The medical professional was awarded the money because of his work drawing attention to the foot problems faced by patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
He highlighted the fact the level of care received by people experiencing such problems due to rheumatoid arthritis is inconsistent around the country and the issue needs to be taken more seriously.
Dr Otter received a cash prize of £1,000 and was also given a silver medal during the annual conference of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists', which took place recently in Harrogate.
