Audiologists host awareness raising workshop

Audiologists in London have been helping people learn about the various services and facilities available to help children with hearing difficulties.
An event held at Queen Mary's Hospital in Roehampton was aimed at raising awareness among families about the help on hand, the Wandsworth Guardian reports.
The news source noted that more than 34,000 children and young people in the UK are deaf, with around 12,000 of them having been born without hearing.
Justine Sweet, head of audiology at the hospital - which boasts a world-famous amputee rehabilitation centre - described the day as a success.
"We wanted to provide parents with an opportunity to find out a bit more about what our team does and how we can help them," she said, adding that children in attendance enjoyed face painting sessions.
The National Deaf Children's Society's Listening Bus was cited as one of the highlights, as it offered demonstrations of new technology.
