ODPs to begin work in new pre-built surgery units

A number of people with operation department practitioner (ODP) jobs are to begin working in new pre-made rooms.
According to a London SE1 report, a tower crane recently hoisted the modular theatres into position in the basement undercroft of the Evelina Children's Hospital.
The medical facility houses 140 inpatient beds and 20 intensive care beds, as well as a range of specialist units.
As a result of the addition of the pre-fabricated theatres, the hospital's capacity for surgery will be expanded.
Grenville Fox, clinical director of children's services, said: "The rapid installation of these two new theatres will benefit patients and ensure we can continue to provide the best levels of care for the children we treat."
He added that the benefit of Evelina Children's Hospital is that it brings together a range of specialist children's services.
This means that safer, higher quality care can be provided, Mr Fox concluded.
