Radiographers 'to work in new facility'

People with radiography jobs will be among those starting work in a new medical facility at Wellington Hospital when it has been constructed.
The healthcare centre is to be five storeys high and will cost £22 million to create.
Part of the HCA CancerCare, the oncology provision will focus predominantly on gastro intestinal cancers, as well as cancers in the liver, head and neck and gynaecological areas.
Commenting on the development, Wellington Hospital's chief executive Keith Hague said: "We have been planning this major expansion for some time because of the increasing demand for our services and our need to introduce new areas of medicine including oncology."
He added that managers at the centre want to improve patient facilities and bring outpatient and day care services together in one place.
Currently, the hospital has 266 registered beds, as well as 20 intensive care unit beds and 46 neurological rehabilitation beds. It also contains 11 operating theatres.
