John Sergeant opens new radiography facility

Former news presenter and reality TV star John Sergeant has opened a new radiography facility at Ealing Hospital.
The celebrity, who used to be the political correspondent for the BBC and has since gone on to feature in programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing, attended a ceremony at the new CT Scanner and Digital Room.
Costing £1.5 million, it contains a state-of-the-art scanning machine which can image an entire abdomen in eight seconds.
Sergeant was given a tour of the equipment by consultant radiologist and project leader for the build Dr Miranda Harvie.
The medical expert remarked: "Radiology is a fascinating area to work in, as it is constantly evolving. We have seen a significant increase in throughput and efficiency with this new scanner."
She added that it was a "wonderful opportunity" to show the celebrity, as well as other colleagues, the "excellent" work the radiography team have been doing.
