New pharmacy may be created in Scarborough

A health centre in north Yorkshire has applied for planning permission in order to turn its basement into a retail pharmacy.
Lawrence House Medical Centre in Scarborough is hoping that the council will give the go-ahead for the development in early February, which will involve creating a new entrance so patients can easily access the pharmacy.
Leicestershire firm BRP Architects will head up the construction and will adhere to the building's design and decor in order to make the pharmacy a pleasant place to visit, according to Scarborough Evening News.
Jo Green, deputy practice manager at Falsgrave Surgery, told the newspaper: "It's all very positive and I think it will be a brilliant thing to have attached to us. The work will be done to a very high standard like the rest of the building."
Two pharmacies in Banbury in the south-east of England have begun to offer free heart checks in order to help prevent a rise of coronary diseases in the area, the Oxford Mail recently reported.
