Podiatrist helps footballer return to action

A podiatrist has helped a professional footballer return to the game after an ankle injury saw him confined to the sidelines.
Hibernian player Kevin McBride was forced to sit out five matches after suffering pain during a game in November, the Edinburgh Evening News reports.
The damage was found to be two small pieces of bone, which were floating around in his right ankle.
Thanks to the efforts of a foot specialist, however, the 28-year-old is back in action.
Podistrist at Hibs Bill Kerr created a special insole which can be inserted into his boot and, thanks to the development, McBride was able to return to the field.
Commenting on his treatment, the sportsman praised the work of medical staff.
He added: "The insole is intended to lift the arch of my foot and so take the pressure off."
McBride - who has also played for Celtic, among other teams - went on to state: "Now it is really just a case of playing through the pain barrier."
