Operation department practitioners meet Alan Bennett

A number of people with jobs as operation department practitioners were recently among those to meet Alan Bennett.
The playwright, who is famed for creations such as the History Boys and the Madness of King George, travelled to University College Hospital to open a new surgical theatre.
He was once a patient at the medical centre, having treatment for an aneurysm there.
Bennett remarked: "I underwent three preliminary angiograms and because my aneurysm was in such an unusual place it was quite a tricky procedure."
He went on to revealed that he found it "inspiring" that a small number of hospital workers could work together "so tactfully".
The operation was elegant and "like a ballet", he added.
In the new theatre, staff at University College Hospital will be able to conduct traditional operations and minimally invasive techniques.
It will also enable surgeons to perform more complex operations because it contains the latest imaging technology.
