Register as an Dietitian
Thursday 24th December 2009
A dietician is one of those involved in cooking courses aimed at people who are being treated with chemotherapy.
The project was started by Sara Stewart, who was diagnosed with breast cancer, the Daily Mail reports.
She stated: "Most of us know that people often lose their hair during chemo. Few realise the host of additional problems associated with the treatment, such as issues with eating."
The course is being run at luxury cooking school Eckington Manor in Worcestershire.
Among those on hand to provide advice to participants is dietician Ladan Hajihassani.
She is employed at the Worcester Royal Hospital, which is run by Worcester NHS Acute Hospitals Trust - an organisation that provides healthcare services to a population of around 550,000 and has more than 5,000 workers.
Among the dishes being taught at the classes are mustard prawns with warm lettuce and beef noodles in a spicy broth.
