Radiographers begin work in new X-ray room

A number of people with radiography jobs in the UK have begun work at a hi-tech facility.
Colchester Hospital has had a new digital X-ray system installed which is described as the first of its kind in the UK, the Daily Gazette reports.
Among the equipment available to medical experts operating in the centre is a Toshiba Radrex-i digital X-ray machine.
The device was purchased by Essex County Hospital, which provides services to a local population of around 370,000.
Commenting on the new product, Penny Hatton, senior radiographer at Essex County Hospital, said it produces more high-quality images.
She added: "The new equipment includes the first digital general radiography X-ray machine at Colchester Hospital Trust and means that we can access the images instantly after they have been taken."
Ms Hatton went on to state that the device significantly improves productivity and, as a result, reduces patient waiting times.
