Those with hospital jobs 'may benefit from new training centre'

People with hospital jobs may benefit from a new facility which is to be created in Leeds.
The Clinical Practice Centre will be constructed at St James's Hospital - which is run by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
Cash for the project, which is to cost around £2.85 million, is being provided by regional health authority NHS Yorkshire and the Humber.
Among those to receive skills development sessions at the centre will be doctors, nurses and health workers.
They will get training in a range of things, including infection prevention.
Dr Peter Belfield, medical director at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - which employs over 14,000 staff - said the new provision will bring together many facilities currently scattered across the city's medical centres.
"This is an area that's inevitably going to grow as doctors and nurses have less time to train on patients," he remarked.
