Radiography careers in NHS 'are varied'

There are a range of career opportunities available to those with radiography jobs in the National Health Service (NHS), it has been suggested.
Nicole McIntyre made her comments before being awarded a BSc Honours in Diagnostic Radiography at the University of Ulster last week.
She said: "As a radiographer within the NHS, there are a lot of opportunities under continuous professional development to go further and to specialise."
The 24-year-old works as a hospital radiographer in two medical centres based in Glasgow, the Gartnavel General and the Western Infirmary.
Her interest in the medical field was awakened after she accompanied her mother to X-ray appointments. Also, she lost a friend to cancer in childhood.
She was the first recipient of the US-sponsored Boston Step-Up to the University of Ulster Scholarship at the University of Ulster, which has campuses in a number of places in Northern Ireland, including Belfast, Jordanstown and Coleraine.
