New cardiac team launched in England

A number of medical workers have begun operating as an emergency team, providing a services to patients suffering from a range of complaints, including cardiac problems.
According to reports in Redhill And Reigate Life, the professionals are based in Horley and are working in partnership with South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SECAmb), which covers a geographical area of around 3,600 miles.
The community responder team is always supported by an ambulance, but, because they live in the local area, they may be the first to the scene of a medical emergency.
Commenting on the development, SECAmb's Peter Glover said the organisation is "delighted" to welcome this addition to its services.
He added: "They will support the work of the ambulance service and help to improve outcomes for patients."
SECAmb serves a community of approximately 4,500,000 and responds to calls from patients on average every 1.14 minutes.
