Refer an Cardiac Physiologist
Friday 4th December 2009
People with jobs as cardiac physiologists at Broomfield Hospital will be among those to benefit from a donation made by local golf enthusiasts.
The Channels Golf Club in Chelmsford raised in excess of £7,000 for the cause by hosting a series of events throughout the year.
According to Dr Del Turner, consultant cardiologist at the hospital, which is located on Court Road, Chelmsford, the cash will be used to purchase new medical equipment such as heart monitors.
He was invited along with unit manager Phil Ruddock to receive the donation by club captains Sue Mitchell and John Woodhouse.
Ms Mitchell said: "Some of our own members have benefitted from the expert care they provide, so it is very rewarding to offer our support in this way."
She added that the club's members did not expect to raise so much and they are "thrilled" with the total.
Receiving the funding, Dr Turner expressed gratitude on behalf of the cardiac care team.
