After receiving a good Ofsted report, the headteacher of a nursery school has praised staff at the institution, including a speech and language therapist.

Burnwood Nursery was described by the inspection agency as providing a caring environment for its children, Stoke and Staffordshire paper the Sentinel reports.

Responding to the comments, head of the school Juliet Levingston noted that, as well as teachers, the institution has a speech and language specialist, an occupational therapist and an educational psychologist working in it.

She added: "The outstanding rating is great for the nursery and the reputation of the whole area.

"It's a credit to the staff who work so hard and the fabulous relationships with the parents."

In total, 17 people are employed at the nursery, which caters for 59 pupils split into two classes.

This is the second time the school has been given an outstanding rating by Ofsted, which is the office for standards in education, children's services and skills.
