Cardiac physiologists begin work in new centre

A number of people with cardiac physiology jobs have begun work in a new medical centre.
Based at Leeds General Infirmary, the Yorkshire Heart Centre is now open to patients, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
Yesterday (November 30th), the facility - which features three ultrasound machines and a training suite - was opened by consultant cardiologist Dr Gordon Williams.
He said: "Leeds has a tradition of being at the forefront of cardiac ultrasound, so it's another major step forward that we have been able to enhance the role of our cardiac ultrasound department."
Funding for the project was partly raised through the Heartbeat Appeal, which has generated a total of around £495,000 over the last ten years to help Leeds General Infirmary.
Established 18 years ago, the appeal aims to make sure that Yorkshire's hospitals remain at the cutting edge of patient care by helping provide new equipment for medical professionals to use.
