Mortuary technicians get new facilities in Bristol

A number of people with jobs as mortuary technicians in Bristol are benefiting from new facilities.
According to reports in the Bristol Evening Post, the mortuary viewing rooms at Frenchay and Southmead used to be dingy but have undergone renovations.
In total, £185,000 has been spent on creating the rooms, which are designed to allow the friends and relatives of deceased patients to spend as much time as they want with their loved ones.
A team employed by North Bristol NHS Trust - which has nearly 9,000 staff in total - made sure the rooms have natural light and a relaxed atmosphere.
Medical secretary at Frenchay Hospital Anita O'Connor commented: "This facility just makes you feel comfortable, like you want to be here."
Previously, although the staff were "fantastic", the room was "grim", she claimed.
Ms O'Connor helped the project team when they were planning the design and attended a recent opening of the viewing rooms.
