Speech therapy jobs to benefit from Conservative funding pledge?

People working in speech therapy jobs may benefit from increased government investment under the Tories.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by those treating autism, party leader David Cameron has said the Conservatives are committed to "real increases" in spending on health care, reports Medical News Today.
In a response to the UK Autism Foundation, Mr Cameron said more funding is needed to meet the country's future health challenges.
"I agree with you that autism represents one of the most difficult and pressing of these challenges," he added.
Ivan Corea, the CEO of the UK Autism Foundation, had written to Mr Cameron as well as prime minister Gordon Brown and Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg to highlight the risks of cutting healthcare funding.
He warned of "devastating" results of spending cuts in speech therapy and respite care provision.
Last month, Mr Corea called on the government to increase tax credits, carer's allowance and disability living allowance in next year's Budget.
