Belfast pharmacists praised for successful event

More than 200 health checks were carried out at an event in a Belfast shopping centre last week, the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has confirmed.
The organisation teamed up with the Ulster Chemists' Association as part of Ask Your Pharmacist Week, offering visitors to CastleCourt the chance to take advantage of services.
Blood pressure, cholesterol and carbon monoxide levels were among the things tested for, with shoppers also getting the chance to ask questions.
The NPA's Anne McAlister praised those in pharmacy jobs who took part, noting that their enthusiasm helped raise awareness and make the event a success.
"They received warm praise from the many members of the public who availed of the services throughout the day," she added.
NHS Somerset and Yeovil District Hospital recently launched a campaign entitled Choose Well, which is encouraging residents to turn to people in pharmacy jobs for advice on a range of health issues.
