Refer an Audiologist
Thursday 12th November 2009
An audiologist has been speaking about a campaign to collect hearing aids for distribution in developing countries.
Charles Munn, hearing aid audiologist at Specsavers in Salisbury, is seeking to raise awareness of the initiative among local residents, the Salisbury Journal reports.
Under the terms of the project, a collection bin for donated hearing aids has been set up in the store.
The scheme is the result of a partnership between the hearing centre and charity Sound Seekers, which works in partnership with developing countries in the Commonwealth to assist in the prevention and treatment of deafness among children.
Mr Munn said: "We only hope that by highlighting the campaign local residents will come by and get involved."
He added that Sound Seekers is a charity "close to our hearts" and it provides people with the chance to make a difference to the lives of others who are less fortunate than themselves.
