Ask Your Pharmacist Week gets underway

Hospital pharmacists and others in the profession could find that they are in greater demand than usual this week, as Britons are being encouraged to take advantage of their services.
Ask Your Pharmacist Week began yesterday (November 9th) and one man in such an occupation told the Newham Recorder that the role has changed in recent years.
In the past pharmacists' main responsibility was to dispense prescriptions written by a doctor, said Jignesh Patel of Rohpharm in Plaistow.
"Now community pharmacies can offer health checks and a wide range of other services," he added.
The news source noted that those aged 40 to 74 are being urged to get free health checks, which typically take less than half an hour.
It comes after the National Pharmacy Association teamed up with the Women's Institute, with talks being provided to encourage people to make sure they are taking medicines in the correct way.
