The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) and pharmacy job providers have teamed up to work with Women's Institute (WI) Federations, providing talks to their members.
Presentations are being held at different WIs to encourage more people to partake in the Medicine Use Review service, which offers advice on how to take medication correctly among other things.
Jean Curl of Hertfordshire WI remarked that a talk put on recently under the scheme was "informative, interesting, entertaining, enlightening" and enjoyed by everybody who attended.
She added that it would be welcomed again next year.
NPA head of communications Neal Patel explained: "Last year the NPA conducted a survey which showed that about a quarter of people do not take their medicines correctly."
Liasing with institutions such as the WI will hopefully help to tackle this issue, Mr Patel said.
Established in 1921, the NPA offers membership and benefits to everyone who is a community pharmacy infrastructure member.
