Cash injection to hire podiatry nurses

Podiatry job workers will now be hired part-time to hold a weekly session for homeless people in Brownlow Fold.
St Luke's Drop In Centre in Chorley Old Road will take place every Tuesday, seeing around ten people, with a podiatry clinic on Thursdays, the Bolton News reported.
The Primary Care Trust is to receive £46,000 each year towards the development of the service supporting those without a home, which will subsidise new equipment and the employment of two part-time nurses.
Health visitor Julie Draper and nurse Joanne Munro told the paper: "The health drop-in has been a huge success and as a result we have received more funding."
The walk-in system was introduced in 2006 to make access to medical services easier for homeless people, because many do not have a GP and often leave it very late before seeking help.
St Luke's drop-in centre provides a number of other services - such as free meals - and receives between 50 and 70 people daily.
