Baby clinic users 'to be informed of changes' following fire

Clitheroe Health Centre's baby clinic, which may offer use of a newborn hearing screener, might be temporarily closed or relocated following a fire.
The blaze, which broke out on the premises of Pendleside and Castle GP surgeries, has caused damage that could take until the end of next week to repair, Clitheroe Today reported.
Due to this, temporary plans for relocation and other arrangements to continue offering services to patients have been put into place, with the latter practice moving to a building not far from the site, called The Annexe, and the former having moved to Quex House.
Ribblesdale Children's Centre will take over the midwifery service and the Council Chambers in Clitheroe will continue offering help to stop smoking.
Patients needing other services such as the pulmonary rehabilitation support group, orthoptics or the baby clinic are being told of any temporary provisions, according to the news provider.
The Clitheroe Health Centre recently underwent a major expansion and renovation due to a £1.4 million donation made by the Teaching Primary Care Trust.
