Pharmacists sought for National Pharmacy Board elections

Professionals working in pharmacy jobs are being asked to submit themselves for the National Pharmacy Board elections held by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB).
Jeremy Holmes, the organisation's chief executive and registrar, has urged those who are "passionate" about their field to step forward.
"It really is an exciting time for the profession and I would like to encourage members who are committed to creating our new body to stand up and be counted at these elections," he said.
The boards will consist of national bodies for England and Wales - which will have 11 places each - and Scotland, which will have 12.
Next year, for the first time, there will be no Council and it will hand over power around April 2010.
The RPSGB and the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland recently published new responsible pharmacist requirement guidelines for those in the profession working in hospitals.
Additional support is to be provided through this strategy to hospital pharmacists, as so many patients are dependent on their activity.
