Dietician helps cancer patients eat well

A new cookery class in Eckington, near Pershore, aims to give dietary advice to women undergoing chemotherapy.
Dietician Ladan Hajihassani of Worcestershire Royal Hospital will be present at the cooking for chemo class, which bears in mind the eating problems chemotherapy can cause and tries to find a way around them, Worcester News reported.
In addition to chef Dean Cole's culinary demonstrations, Mr Hajihassani will offer support and advice to patients' family members and friends.
The class, held as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, takes place on October 23rd at Eckington Manor Cookery School. Its owner, Judy Gardner, has had her own experiences of chemotherapy.
"I've supported so many friends through treatment, I know it's a time when the right sort of food can provide great comfort," she told the newspaper.
Participants will learn to prepare three dishes - mustard prawns, beef noodles and apple fool.
In August, Cancer Research UK organised a march in central London comprising of 46 female researchers, survivors and celebrities, representing the 46,000 who are affected by breast cancer every year.
