Hospitals to get swine flu vaccination

Hospitals in Scotland are to introduce the swine flu vaccination on October 21st, the Scottish government has announced.
The number of people said to be in the priority group to get the jab in Scotland is around 1.3 million, with at-risk category children under ten receiving it in two separate doses, according to Nicola Sturgeon, cabinet secretary for health and wellbeing.
Ms Sturgeon stressed the importance of the vaccine as a vital defence, especially for hospital health workers, who are most at risk of infection.
She added that "Scotland is one of the first countries in the world to receive the supply thanks to contracts put in place before this outbreak".
General practitioners are to help implement the scheme by issuing invitations to all those eligible to have the jab.
The NHS stated that cases of swine flu in England rose from 18,000 to 27,000 between October 8th and 15th and has issued further advice on coping with the virus, including being fully aware of the symptoms and making sure those infected have people to look after them.
