Audiologist nominated for best boss prize

The audiology services manager at Worcestershire's Royal Hospital has been nominated for the Britain's best boss award, to be presented next month.
Several audiology department staff put forward 46-year-old Debbie Hinton for the prize organised by Working Families and backed by BT.
Ms Hinton was commended for her "flexible and supportive style" enabling employees to choose the hours they work, the Berrow's Worcester Journal reported.
Additionally, she was said to encourage the best possible service as well as welcoming ideas and initiatives on how to further improve it.
The mother of two has seen the advantages of the flexible working hours scheme herself, saying that it helped her balance her home and work life.
She highlighted how the system benefits everyone, explaining: "Some staff want to start work at 7.30am while others prefer evening or Saturday shifts, which means we have been able to offer extra clinics to our patients."
Last year's best boss winner Chris Brindley was the embodiment of success at work as well as at home, according to Working Families chief executive Sarah Jackson, which is exactly what the organisation is looking for.
