Dietician's programme hailed a success

A programme devised by a dietician to help overweight children in a Yorkshire town has been hailed a success.
Elmarie Moore, who specialises in paediatric care, established the Barnsley Fit Kids Club along with community health development officer Bronia Fretwell in 2007, the Yorkshire Post reports.
The medical professionals decided to take action in response to rising child obesity figures.
Designed to encourage healthy lifestyles and to help overweight youngsters and their families manage the problem, the scheme avoids placing emphasis on weight loss.
Commenting on the club, which is run by Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Ms Moore said she was "delighted" with it and with those who have taken part.
She added: "The great thing about the Fit Kids Club is that all the family is involved. It encourages them to take ownership of their lifestyles by making small manageable changes that fit in with their daily life."
