Pharmacies in Scotland will be among the places dispensing information about the country's seasonal flu vaccination campaign, it has been revealed.
In a recent message, health secretary Nicola Sturgeon emphasised the importance of eligible people receiving the jab.
GP practices are to start inviting patients aged 65 or over, those with a medical condition that puts them in an 'at risk' group and NHS healthcare staff to have the injections.
Ms Sturgeon, who has been an MSP for Glasgow since 1999 and Glasgow Govan since 2007, said: "Having flu is never pleasant but most people make a quick recovery. However, some people are more at risk of complications and for them flu can be very serious - or even fatal."
As well as pharmacies, GP surgeries, health boards and voluntary health organisations will give out public information leaflets about the seasonal flu campaign.
Each year, more than a million doses of seasonal flu vaccine are made available in Scotland.
