Register as an Dietitian
Tuesday 6th October 2009
A physiotherapist and dietician recently took part in an initiative designed to improve the health of school pupils.
Palmerston Primary staged an event during which youngsters were advised on diet and exercise, Barry and District News reports.
Physiotherapist Gemma Passmore was on hand for the day to provide information, along with dietician Amanda Squires.
Both of the women are from Cardiff and the Vale NHS Trust, which serves a population of around 500,000.
Ms Passmore stated she hoped the event would encourage more children, parents and teachers to think about exercise and nutrition on a daily basis and to build good habits into their lives.
She added: "If children start now, it will be much easier for them to continue and see it as the norm."
Those involved in the initiative tried to make the sessions fun in order to persuade pupils to take exercise, Ms Passmore went on to say.
