A new device which is designed to monitor the various functions of the heart has been given CE mark approval.
The AVIVO Mobile Patient Management System was developed by Corventis, which describes itself as a "pioneer in wireless cardiovascular solutions".
It is wearable and is able to provide insights into the cardiac health status of people, meaning it may be useful for those who suffer from conditions such as heart failure.
The device can measure heart rate, respiratory rate ,variability, fluid status, activity and posture and, after collecting the data, it transmits it wirelessly to the patient.
In addition, medical staff are provided with information when an irregularity in heart rhythm occurs.
President and chief executive officer of Corventis Ed Manicka said: "Corventis is advancing healthcare worldwide and the CE mark for the AVIVO Mobile Patient Management System is one additional milestone in our efforts to deliver on this promise."
